About
Hello! I’m Jacob Hernandez, a recent Public Relations graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with a passion for storytelling, strategic communication, and the ideas that bring people and brands together.
My experience spans media relations, digital journalism, campaign development, and brand storytelling. Most recently, I served as a Media Relations Assistant for the State Fair of Texas, where I supported media outreach, coordinated interviews and production shoots, developed press materials, and helped connect journalists with the people and stories behind one of Texas’s most iconic events. Working alongside local and national media strengthened my ability to communicate under pressure, build relationships, and find compelling stories in fast-paced environments.
As Vice President of Blueprint Media, a student-led public relations agency, I helped lead a team in developing an integrated communications campaign for a real-world healthcare client. From research and strategic positioning to creative development and execution, I gained experience turning communication challenges into thoughtful, audience-focused solutions.
My work as a Digital Media Intern at Texas Tasty further developed my storytelling skills through articles covering food, pop culture, and local news, as well as social media content designed to engage digital audiences. Across these experiences, I’ve learned to adapt my voice, think strategically, and create content that connects with people.
I’m especially interested in the intersection of media, culture, entertainment, and brand storytelling. Whether I’m building a campaign, coordinating a media opportunity, or developing a story, I bring curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to making communication meaningful.
I’m always looking for opportunities to learn, collaborate, and create work that makes an impact across public relations, marketing, and journalism.
